As a construction project manager and business owner, Mr Christian has been afforded the opportunity to provide architectural design and project management services across the US and work with a vast array of projects since 1999; his experience in both residential and commercial remodeling and new construction has ranged in value and volume. He is able to use programs such as QCS, e4clicks Estimating, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Autodesk's AutoCAD; he is able to work effectively and efficiently on an independent basis. With the true knowledge and skills necessary to manage employees, subcontractors and material suppliers that enables him to be a successful player in an important team. Throughout the past years he acquired many contacts and each have continued to be a part of his professional endeavors. He is very dedicated, personable and easy-going while remembering that the jobs must be completed on-time and within budget and he knows what it takes to get that done. During downtime, Mr Christian enjoys fishing, watching various "reality" and sitcom tv shows, listening to all types of music, and traveling his home state of Louisiana.
After being hired at one of the top MEDCOM prime contractors for the US Corp of Engineers, Mr Christian conducted his preliminary training as JOC assistant project manager at Bolling AFB. Upon completion of this short three month training period, he was afforded the opportunity to work as the JOC project manager at Fort Polk LA; this was a $5-million dollar/year contract in which he performed all aspects of the construction management process. His daily duties included interaction with facility occupant/DPW/Government Contracting officers, administrative assistant/QC Rep and Assistant PM, coordinate subcontractors, prepare estimates utilizing e4clicks, negotiating project costs with DPW representative, preparing material take-offs, proposal preparation, prepare subcontractor documents, scheduling, payment procurement and project close-out. While on this site he also worked on MATOC projects at the Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital as an assistant project manager. These projects included building renovations, restorations, site development and system replacements.
Mr Christian was promoted to a position of which he assisted the Regional Managers and their on-site project managers as a project + quality control manager. His duties included traveling the United States to work onsite with facility occupant/FM during site visits and follow-up, coordinate subcontractors’ proposals/bidding, prepare 803 technical reports, material take-offs/IHE, complete preliminary design and as-built drawings, quality control through the “3-phase Inspection process”, O & M manuals, APP’s and project close-out documents.
From 1995 to 2006, Mr Christian worked for a few family-owned construction companies based in the Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania (Weis Markets, FML Construction LLC, Paul Q Ross Construction Inc, Kuhns Brothers Log Homes Inc, DeCapria Design and Management LLC and Miller Bros Construction Inc) that focused on new construction, additions and renovations of residential and light commercial projects; the project values ranged from $1500 to $3-mil. Mr Christian completed an internship in the a/e/cm departments of Weis Markets supermarkets where he was tasked to redesign all of the interior and exterior store signage. This was a grand 3-month project for a college student and, very proudly, the signs in this 20+ page booklet are still in use and can be seen inside and outside of the 150+ facilities located throughout PA NY NJ WV VA and MD.
As project manager, he was directly responsible to expedite the owners' dreams from design to completion. His duties included direct communication with owners, site visits, scheduling, coordinate subcontractors’ proposals/bidding, preparing preliminary design, construction documents and as-built drawings, preparation of reports, material take-offs, coordination/management of materials and labor crews of 2-10 persons, management of subcontractors and vendors, QC and coordination/prep/manage close-out documents. He was active in his community as a member of the St Luke's Lutheran Church Council and Building Committee, National Association of Home Builders, Associated General Contractors and the Central Pennsylvania Builder's Association.
Although he made employment changes on an average of every 3-years (not uncommon in the construction industry as employees are often retained for specific projects), with each career move, Mr Christian made sure he would gain knowledge and experience in a new niche of the industry and advancing to better himself. Additionally, he maintains friendships with a majority of previous clients and employee(r)s; this speaks volumes for his persona and skill sets.
